Black 2nd Gen RS4 (19 Pics)

This is a 2nd Gen Audi RS4 that I did for a fellow Autopian. It came to me with around 3000 miles, and some mild dealer installed swirling. After evaluating the surface and talking to the owner, we decided to pass on the wash, clay and seal package and go for perfection.

Before:

Foamgun wash

MWB 5:1 on wheels

AutoInt Decon

Clay

Foamgun wash

Compound hood and trunk with Presta UCCL on a white lc @ 1500rpm

Tape off trim and polish entire car with P085RD on a white lc ccs @1500-1000rpm

Z6 wipedown on paint, wheels, trim, calipers and lights

Opti-Seal on paint, wheels, trim, calipers and lights

Souveran topper on paint

Z16 on tires

Z6 wipedown on motor

Note the 200MPH speedo - and 8000rpm redline. Interior got:

Vacuum

Meg's GC Leather Conditioner

Z6 on wood

IG on glass

Overall, this car was a pleasure to work on. Thanks for the opportunity Chris!

I have done one of these before... and the owner let me take it out! I will never forget it, that exhaust note just sends shivers up your spine.

Gorgeous detail by the way!!!

these cars are just so sick. one of my dream cars, this or the 03 RS6. and now theres the 09 RS6 coming to drool over too. great job

The price tag on the new S4 is completely outrageous. I stopped by my Audi dealer the other day to take a look.... $70k! NO THANKS!

That instrument cluster is pure secks, though.

Great job on the detail. I love those cars.

Great Job! Menzerna Question... Is this in between SIP and 106FF ?? Does it finish down nearer to lsp-ready than sip ?

P085RD came out before P0106ff - it's an older polish, but with finer abrasives than 106ff. It definitely has less cut, but the difference in gloss is marginal at best. It's easier to finish down with than 106ff - great polish to learn with, even better polish to work with.

Thanks for clarification!

looks good Tim......good to see the owner ended up going for a full correction instead of the wash & wax
