Hey guys, this section is right up my ally, all i do all day is detail boats. Couldn't help but want to post a couple of pictures of a job I did a couple days ago.

Customer paid to have the boat cleaned inside and out, so with nothing else to do I spent most of the day making it look good.

I don't have any before, or many "during" pictures as I just ran home on a break to grab my camera to take a few shots of her finished.

Started with an exterior wash using Megs Boat wash on the boat and trailer. Washing and drying one section at a time until the entire boat was either hand or brush scrubbed. Cleaned the rims and tires with a stiff brush and then started with a nice thorough one stage polish.

Got the camera before i was done polishing so i could do a before and after.

Fibreglass gelcoat is a little different to work with than the clearcoat of a car, but the results are still fairly nice.

Here are some pics of her finished sittin pretty. Sorry that the lighting is so terrible in there, i need to do most real detail work with portable lighting.

Hope you guys like it.

Generally I do a 2 stage cut/polish with 3M rubbing compound and finish with polish...

This particular boat i tried something new from car brite called crystal shine. Its a simple one stage polish.

Car brite: I know what you're all thinking, but in all my years doing this I've had no fancy name brands, just elbow grease and commitment.

Beautiful job, way to go! Now if I could get my black truck to look that good.

My neighbour just purchased a Crownline this summer and they are beautiful boats, that owner should be very proud to say the least.........Irv

(P.S. not to be nosey but what did you charge for all that? No worries if you don't wish to tell, I just have no idea what something like that would cost?)

very Nice !!

How long did it take and what did you charge ?

(just the gelcoat cut and polish) how do you price ? per foot or hour ?
