Black 2007 Caddie Escalade

Clean Dean

Keep it clean !!!
Today I detailed a black 2007 Cadillac Escalade which I have not touched in the past 9 months. The owner is a good friend of mine and an avid automobile enthusiast himself. This is his daily driver, and his employees (construction company) have been “handwashing the car for him since the last time it was detailed. I am sure that they are giving their best effort to “scrub the finish clean each time its washed. I am also sure, that I will need to set aside an afternoon sometime soon to give a class in proper handwashing !!! :hairpull

Needless to say I spent the better part of 4 hours buffing the exterior to remove most of the wash scratches and used the following:

Claybar

Buff with Metabo + Green Edge pad + Hi temps Heavy Cut Leveler

Buff with Metabo + White Edge final finish pad + 3M Finesse It

Sealed with Meguiars #21

slicknickis3,

I also have a Makita 9227, and its a nice machine, but the Metabo is so lightweight and great when buffing in tight area and around door handles.

tdekany,

Thanks. The exterior took me about 6 hours. Luckily the interior was in good shape.

Way2SSlow,

Those are the OEM Caddie wheels. The 21" Chrome Assante wheels have been put away for the winter. The grill and side pieces are also from Assante.

hey great job on the car. how do you like the metabo compared to the makita??? Great job on the correction. I also have the HTHC and I love it but after I got SIP, i tend to lean towards that more than the HTHC now. How long did it take you do the caddy?

artikxscout,

Like my Makita, but I am now spoiled by the weight of the Metabo. The motor ios also very smooth.

I only have the original IP, and was not completely blown away by the product the first few times I used it. I also have Power Gloss, and may break it out again soon to see how it stacks up. I love FP, and do not have a preference when placed head to head with 3M Finnesse IT. Both are outstanding final finish products and are free of fillers.

Thanks for all the compliments !!!
