This is a black '68 GTO that I did for a friend of mine to get the car ready for sale. The original goal was 100% correction, but he made a deal to sell the car before I was even 2 hours into the detail. So instead we decided to go for 80% - 90% correction, since 100% was not going to be possible in the short amount of time I had left to complete it. I achieved about 95% correction with just a few RIDS left here and there. And wouldn't you know it, the buyer ended up backing out. I may end up doing more work on it to get rid of the remaining RIDS.
The entire car had severe water spotting, lots of RIDS and major swirls. The car was repainted about 5 years ago with a very hard clear coat. I was very impressed with how well the PC removed the defects using the KB method.
Process:
ONR wash via spray bottle.
Clay using DP clay and ONR as lube
M105/yellow CCS pad via PC 7424XP using KB method
IPA wipe downM80/white CCS pad via PC 7424XP
LSP - S100
Then I just cleaned the tires and dressed them with Hi-Temp Grape dressing and cleaned the windows with Ardex New Wave diluted 10:1 and a MF. The owner took care of the interior.
I'm new to taking pics of my details so I hope these pics are satisfactory. I was not able to get any good sun shots as it was overcast. Hope you enjoy the pics.
