nice job! I had a 00 black Civic Si (Canadian Si-R) before. I know how difficult it is to maintain black.

It's the car that made me swear off owning another black car, or at least a black daily driver. :lol

Wow! Im surprised DACP was able to remove those nasty swirls so effectively..

Honda has very soft paint, so it's no surprise DACP removed that. I did a similiar condition/color civic with SSR2.5 and a yellow pad and removed everything.

Sorry to go OT to the OP. Great job on the SI :2thumbs:

Honda paint is usually soft enough that you can remove swirls with DACP or Optimum Compound with a light cutting pad.

Excellent turnaround, the car looks so much blacker now. Good job removing that dealer sticker too, that is probably who put those rotary holograms in the front fender and still didn't remove the halo swirls. :)

RMG sure looked nice on it after! Process for the engine was basically cut degreaser, agitated, rinsed off, and took some brushes to little hooks and crannys, then dressed w/ 303 Aerospace.

Engine bay took around an hour or so, and the rest of the exterior took about 4-5 hours. It was my first time using my 4" pads on some harder areas of the car, I was amazed how fast it cut through that tough stuff.

Thanks for the responses, guys.

Not to go too OT, but what polish would be needed to remove similar swirls on bmw paint?
