Bird Crap in Clear Coat

Alright, when I was at work today, a bird decided to crap in the center of my hood. RIGHT AFTER I WASHED IT! :grrr

So, it sat on the hood for maybe 4-5 hours. I don't really know.

I got home, and removed the residue w/QD and microfiber towel. However, the acid already was in my clear coat........

So I took out my new rotary , and used 106FF w/white CCS pad, thinking that would solve my problems..........I did 3 passes with it, and it seemed to get rid of it.

After coming back to my car, and under flouresent lighting, that stupid mark is still there! Should I hit it with SIP and orange pad. Or should I move to a compound, like M105 or M95?

Suggestions?

I've never seen 106ff correct anything but minor holograms. Your results don't surprise me at all. IMO the etching after 4 hours is not going to justify moving to a compound. Follow the common rule and go to your next agressive polish (which sounds like SIP) and give that a try on a 4" spot buff. I'll be very surprised if that doesn't get rid of it. Do an IPA wipedown after each application so you're 100% confident that the defect is gone before you go back to 106ff.
