Bird Bombs and Wax

This hasn't happened yet but I needa know this since I'm about to wax my truck and birds are a problem around me. (Don't have a garage )



So, what happens if I apply wax, and while I'm waiting for it to dry a bird bombs my truck?



Should I just QD it off? or wash the panel again?



Also, my bedcover seems to collect dust as soon as I'm finished washing the truck. If I put wax on it, then I image the wax will be getting covered with stuff that is floating around in the air. How worried should I be that the stuff that landed on the wax will scratch the paint when I buff it off? It there anything I can do to prevent this dirt from scratching?

is to actually wash the truck instead of buffing off the excess wax. You will safely get all of the dirt and the hazed wax off and be left with a nice clean waxed truck .

If a reinforcing opinion helps: I agree. Should any wax be left after the wash, buff it off. Use a QD if for some reason it set up.

ive had a bird more like bomb splatter by Silver Spur this morning - i mean it was a splatter and a half -





i washed it all down with car shmapoo - then waxed with color magic - tell u i going watch out for that bird - and give it at taste of its own medicine. (ahhaahha) - joke

Will the apply, wait, and wash method work with Klasse SG too?

I had okay success using that method for KSG but I had to wash a couple of times since I'm such a wimp about washing -- I wash extremely gently. I left it on for about 4 days though, that could add ot it as well .

I personally would not wash a car within hours of applying Klasse, but yes it should work fine, esp. if you wait longer. I know that some people have left Klasse on for days on a garaged car before buffing off and believed they got even better results, although it was harder to buff.



I think it worked fine for me, but I have only applied Klasse to 2 cars so far, so take it FWIW.

It was brought up in one of those technical threads (i.e Ron Ketcham) that water may interefere with the curing process of polymer sealants. And I believe Ron suggested it's best to avoid getting the paint wet for the days following polymer sealant application.

In the Klasse application guide that CMA sends out with their Klasse kit, they say that the longer you allow Klasse to sit on the car, the easier it is to buff off. Beats me which is right, because I've always just wiped Klasse SG off easily after about an hour (shorter if low humidity, longer if high humidity).

Application and removal methods can get very confusing, especially since everyone develops their own methods based on personal whims.

Following Zaino's instructions is a good guideline to use for applying SG, since they're both polymer sealants. And since they develop the stuff, they obviously know what they're talking about. I got this tip from Ron Ketcham, who by no means is a Zaino fan.
