Big job

detailedcars

New member
Ive been reading this forum for a long time, and about a month ago I became a member. I work as a Firefighter fulltime and needed something to keep me busy on my days off (20 days a month) so I began detailing cars. I started to advertise, and have been successful with that, yesterday I picked a car dealer. It is kinda small but they move about 30-40 cars a month. I get to detail everyone of them. Thanks to all the info that I have gathered off of this forum, it helped me land a big job. Next step is to hire an employee or two.

Hey Bro...

There are a few firefighters who do detailing on the side here.

Besides you and I, there's HollandPatrick in Connecticut and Bunker in Arizona...

Which FD do you work for, what 's your rank and how many years do you have on "da job"?

I work for Springdale Fire Dept. in Arkansas, before that I was in Oklahoma. Im a FF/EMT, and currently enrolled in medic school. Thats a 2 year program, and I have about 11 months left. Medic class absorbs alot of time, but the payout will be worth it in the long run.

I hope that 30-40 cars per month means $4500, or more, per month. Great score!

Get some bright, young help, you can afford it!

As a former LRRP squad Medic in Viet Nam, I relate.

Good Luck!

When we initially talked we agreed on $100.00 a car. Worse would be more, and better cars would be less. But on the average it'll be $100.00. Im just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that I can handle that load, keep my current customers happy, as well as my family. I dont mind working, and I love to detail so I think that I will be very happy handling that task.

Do the absolute best you can.

Word of mouth will overwhelm you in 18 months.

Increase/adjust your pricing when you can...some SUVs are very big!
