Big Brother is watching....

that's cool. I've seen another one that had much higher resolution shots....good enough that I could clearly view the pool furniture sitting around my neighbor's swimming pool.

Creepy.

The picture of my house is 15 years old, and my neighbor's yard across the street is still dirt.

My Dad even tried his old house in OK. It was off by about 4 houses.

Close but no cigar. My driveway is next to an island at a split in the road, and the marker showed my house as 4 houses away.

It was off a few houses with the address that I put in as well...but still...it's freaky. I would assume from this that every square inch of this country has been mapped from space and at a MUCH higher resolution than you or I could ever imagine.

I wonder if they have any pics of me with the PC in action. :D

Sean, I downloaded the Keyhole program, but should the pictures be at such a low resolution? I can just barely make out a dark shape in my driveway as a 24 foot long Super Duty.

Big Brother is not watching the UK :)

I have seen some of those shows on the closed circuit cameras in London. They said they could track someone walking from one end of the city all the way out to its outer limits.

That TerraServer used to be free (as a come-on) so you could get the higher res images...I spent a lot of time looking at images of things. Some of the images are satellite, some are airplane. They were a lot "newer" back then (but still not that new)...I guess they aren't continually updating them, must have been some effort at a particular time to capture them all.

This is a link to our house in Orlando from 2002. You can see our van in the driveway, it is the corner lot. The marker is wrong, our house is across the street from it.
