Big Black Hummer

It took me nearly 2 hrs. for a normal wash and quick detail :ekk:

Process was NXT car wash, followed by a Quik Shine qd, with Armor All on the tires (including spare :))

This thing is HUGE and a blast to drive. Got to take it down to Palo Duro Canyon (2nd largest canyon in the US) on Friday night (big splash :D ).

In 3 weeks or so, I'll do a full winter prep detail on it. Probably AIO with Collinite topper.

Sadly, the hood has AIO (to remove water spots and bugs), and the rest of the car has nothing. It is only 1 week old, and I haven't had time to do anything else with it (it's my girlfriend's parents' car). They just returned from a 1000 mile road trip. :(

This thing retains water like a pregnant woman. Took me forever to get it totally dry.

Surprisingly, I didn't have to use too much Armor All. 2 full squirts per tire (using an applicator).

Let me know how long it lasts...

the truck that is :)

I have heard way too many H2 horror stories...Nice work on the detail though :) At least it'll look pretty.

ZaneO,

Two hours is about the same time that I spend just washing a customer's Hummer getting it ready to completely polish and wax. I usually figure about two hours to wash, two hours to polish and wax, two hours to thoroughly clean the interior and another hour to take care of those last details. Total time for a complete detailing of a Hummer, about seven hours. Hey, I usually start very early in the AM and take a lunch break after the outside of the vehicle is done. Then, after lunch it's just a matter of doing the interior and taking care of the windows, exterior trim, tires etc.

Have fun doing your full winter prep detail and thanks for sharing a look at your good work.

Thanks, guys. Nothing too special detail-wise...just really like the car and wanted to share some pictures of it.

mirror - it did take forever, but in my defense, I had just finished a 10 hour day of moving office furniture before I started working on it :D I do expect it to take about 4 hours for wash, clay, AIO, and Collinite treatment. I have a feeling these cars will definitely be a cadidate for Poorboy's Trim Restore.

The car was quite dirty, so the wash took much longer. The qd only took 10 minutes or so.

With some practice, I'm sure I can get wash, dry, dress and qd down to 1.5 hrs or less.
