I know it's a given that Bees like citrus....

Working on a CLS 550 yesterday and I was using Zep Citrus in the wheel wells. Had bees flying around and I was swatting them left and right. Think I spent about 15 minutes out of my day fighting off bees.:wall
Well, I was wearing jeans yesterday. I squated down and put my left knee on the asphalt. I, in a hurry, jumped back up. I had a sharp pain in my knee and thought I set my knee down on a sharp rock, piece of glass, or the likes.
After I stood up it hurt worse so I started slapping my knee. At this point I thougth it was a fire ant trying to eat me. Nope. I pulled my pant leg up and to my surprise there wa a stinger stickiong out of my knee. I pulled it out, still in pain, went to the bathroom and stripped my pants off. :notme:
Sure enough, there was a bee that got up my pant leg and stung the ever living crap out of me. :lol2:
No idea how he got up my pant leg, as I felt nothing crawling (and no, I don't wear huge baggy pants, nore those xxx tight pants that some "guys" wear these days) :rofl
Glad he only made it up to the knee when he decided to sting.

I wouldnt say I am "allergic" to bees, but my knee started to swell up decently. Today the swelling is gone, but man, it hurts like no other still.

Just thought I'd share that bee stings suck.

Anyone have any detailing stories of being eaten alive/bittten, or such while working?
 
been attacked by wasps/hornets while cleaning my cousins boat after it had sat over a year with only minimal washing due to a blown detroit 8v92. I was cleaning the boat so we could move it back around to the harbor after having the motor rebuilt and opened the electronics box to turn the stereo on and lo and behold about 20 wasps or hornets flew out and swarmed me...thankfully i was only stung a few times....needless to say i went to the hardware store and spent a good bit on wasp killer....went back and went to war! they won the battle but I won the war....still sucked though
 
Got into a news of yellow jackets when I was a kid, & got stung all over. Been scared sh*tless of them ever since. I used to work for the pest control shop at an Army base back in the 80's. Once the certified pest controllers found out my fear of bees, I got sent on ALL the wasp & yellow jacket calls!
 
I hate the little yellow bees. They nest in the ground during the summer and I usually end up getting stung when mowing. They are so tenacious unlike most other wasps and bees.
 
I know it had to hurt but i could not stop laughing when i read this. But I had a similar experience I was washing a car before starting a detail during the summer and i had shorts on I step on an ant pile and began getting bitten all over my legs. Well i got them all off or so i thought but about five mins later i felt a sharp sting in the cratch area of my pants.... I dont need to elaborate
 
Wow.

I can relate to the Ant Pile. Here in Texas, there are everywhere. I was working on a vehicle when I stepped in an ant pile and did not know it until they started tearing my fleash from my leg! I swear they sneak on you by the hundreds and one of the little b@stards counts,,,,,,, "One, Two, Three, BIIIIIITE!" Everyone thought my little dance was quite entertaining....
