Best way to get dust off car?

I have a black car and dust seems to attract to it VERY quickly. I have just started using Klasse and I am starting to see a reduction in the dust, but it eventually still piles up. What is the best and safest way to remove the dust off of my car? I've heard that the Cali Car Duster does a good job, but i'm kind of hesitant about using it because i am scared that it might scratch my car up even more than it already is!! So, what's the best method?

Cali duster and light dust won't pose a problem unless you are forcefully pushing down onto the paint, but light passes barely touching the surface will work well. also its cheap, like $10 the last time I saw it.

To be extra safe, QD or wash it.

I only have Mother's Showtime QD which obvously has carnuba in it. If i use this to QD my car before i put another coat of SG on it, will the QD cause the SG to not bond to the paint properly? Also, is it ok to QD even with a good amount of dust, or just very fine amounts?

The CA Car Duster followed with Meguiar's Final Inspection has worked wonders for me on several cars. Bought my first CA Duster some 10 years ago and still use it. It seems to work great no matter how black it gets. I just bang it on the side of the garbage can to knock the loose stuff off before and after using it.

There are now three of them in my garage, 10 years old, 6 years old and 1 year old, and I really can't tell which is which when using them. As someone mentioned, it is a duster and should only be used for removing dust.

Ditto on the California Duster. I regularly dust with it every 2-3 days, then once a week use EO wipe & Shine QD to clean the car. Even on our black car, I can do this routine for several weeks before a wash is needed.

Note that the slicker the finish (I have 2 coasts of SG) the easier it will be to remove the dust.

Hope this helps.

I found if you use your new Cali Duster in the house first you

can really cut down on breakin time. Just use it on

dusty stuff like your TV, furniture, stereo, Etc. for a week or

two and try to get it nice and dark. The blacker the better.

After every use rest it on some newspaper to absorb

the excess parafin wax.

way back late last year (it's been such a long winter now, I can't remember ;)) sometimes I just rinse my car off and drive off first thing in the morning. washes the loose dust off and dries by the time I get to work. Of course I have a silver car and the roads by me are clean, but Klasse aids in this method as water just flies off and dust doesn't stick.

Guys, you can wash that car duster too! I tried alittle experiment:

Using Griots Chamois cleaner at 1/2 strenght, I let the duster sit in a a mixture of the cleaner and warm water for 1 hour. Took it out, shook it dry as much as possible, and then gave it a couple days to completely dry before placing it back on the wooden handle.

It not only was clean again, but retained all of its parafin wax as well!

Don't be afraid to clean them.

I've been using mine for quite some time now, and as the poster above said, make sure you use light pressure (the weight of the brush alone is enough) and only do it with a dusty car, not a dirty one.
