i recently picked up my new MB,as i was looking through the ownners manual i noticed that there was a car care booklet that described how to care for your MB and showed MB car care products formulated for them by meguiars, my sales person got me a discount at the parts department so i got the complete line of them. Very pleased so far with them (3 weeks) i have used meguiars stuff in the past and have to say there stuff is pretty good and SAFE but i believe there are better products.Well to get to the piont I purchased klasse twins at the MB dealer today and got a couple of opinions from two parts people one said i use aio only on my customed pianted el camino every two weeks and use it aio to wash as well great stuff no comparison between klasse and meguiars and the other guy said i would stick with meguiars for your new car wait until your car gets older klasse is a bit to strong for new cars? what do u guys think i really want to use klasse aio not so sure i want to use sg dont really care for shine just protection? how often can i use aio and can i use only aio?what benefits would i get from using sg? What soap and qd should i use with klasse? Can i use klasse on my 3 week old paint that i already waxed with MB paint care? thanks guys one last thing has anybody used vinyl and leather care by klasse?

klasse will most definately outlast those meguires products and offer better protection. I am not a fan of the use of abrasives unless needed, so I would skip the AIO, and go right to SG for a new car. AIO CAN be used as a base coat though, it will not harm anything.

As for the KLASSE vinyl dressing, I have never used it, but it's got to be the worst smelling product I ever came across........

KLASSE vinyle rubber dressing smells like kerosine and is oily to my hands.

check your paint for contaminates clay if neccessary.

AIO would not hurt all that much but you could skip it if the paint is cleaned first.

Hey 240,

I used Klasse on our new Odyssey, white. No problems with new paint. Put two AIO on with PC, off by hand. I was amazed at how quickly my new paint felt rough prior to the AIO.

You mentioned wanting protection vice shine, I view SG as the protector so I think you want to use it (your benefit question) .

Frequency, preference will drive this for me. Expecting about 3 to 4 months before reapplying AIO/SG.

Yes, you can use only AIO, maybe put Blitz or another carnuba on top (rules out SG until you remove the wax).

I use EF Power wash, excellent. Meq. GC very nice.

QD with One Grand, EF Clear Pearl, Meq FI, Pinn Crystal mist. No carnuba's if you want to aplly layers of SG.

Here's more Klasse info:

Hope this helps, use the search engine here as well.

Prevention is the key, seal it up with Klasse before you get contaminants not correct for it later. It will help prevent anything from damage from bird crap to marring from washing. Klasse rocks.

I'm not sure I read your post correctly, but did the person at the dealership tell you to use AIO every TWO WEEKS? If so, that's WAY too often. AIO is strong stuff...I'd use it every six months or so.

You can use AIO as a carwash as often as you like, but if you want to apply a new coat of protection every two weeks or so, I'd suggest SG or a carnuba wax instead of AIO. Either way, your car will look GOOD...

i thuoght AIO was not that harsh? So i can safely apply AIO about twice a year but how often can i apply SG?

Every week if you like, but it's not necessary, once a mounth or even five is enough. I would however top AIO with Klasse SG to add more protection and shine.

Look at it this way. Say you AIO your car once and the following weekend you do it again (washing your car beforehand of course) then you wash your car on the third weekend and it looks great. Then you wash it again the next weekend and it looks great again. At this point you have no real reason to put more AIO since it cleans and protects. Rather just add layers of SG on to your cleaned/protected AIO surface. You can use SG every two weekends if you wish and after you're satisified you can add a carnauba every two weeks for extra oomph. Or rather then spending all that time waxing when it's not needed, work under the hood, on the wheels, and on the interior for detailing. HTH-YoSteve

When finishing off with Blackfire white diamond(or any other sealant or wax for that matter) what gives the best results:
1. Applying with a PC7424 and buffing off with microfiber towels
2. Applying by hand and buffing off with PC7424 with a black or red pad.
3. Apply and buff off with the pc?

Thanks

Mark

Mark,
You can apply BFWD by hand or DA. It really doesn't matter. The advantage of using your DA, is that you can apply it quicker and more uniformly thin. If you use the DA, do not use the black pad, use the red one. The black pad is for a finish polish and has some cut to it. I would buff off with a MF by hand.

I'm with Sal (and Barry). I use my PC and a gold LC pad with excellent results. Buff off is by hand with quality MF.

I prefer using my DA to put BFWD on and two MF's to remove by hand.

The stuff goes on and off so easy it is the part of my detail that takes very little time.
