Best Wax?

For a dark colored car, your going to put on one coat , not talkin polish, pre cleaners, clay etc.

Just a coat of wax, which would it be? Lookin for shine factor only

that is a loaded question. If I had to have a one step on a car with swirls id use poorboys blue polish with carnuba. Doesnt give tons of protection but will give you a good alround. Same with NXT and I forgot what its called but I think Long Haul. If the paint is in good condition and money wasnt an object id of course use Pinnacle Souverean, but with a budge id use Poorbiys Nattys Blue

for a properly prepped surface, I have found nothing better than Pinnacle Souveran. for something that isn't so great, collinite or #16. They fill and look decent at the same time.

For "shine" factor? P21s, Souveran, Signature, Natty regular, Natty Blue, #16, Blitz, Mother's California Gold paste, 3M Perfect-It paste, Finish Kare Pink Wax, Carnauba Moose Wax, NXT, etc..., etc..., etc...

Every wax makes your car shine. Are you interested in sealants? There a bunch of those to choose from too.

What about durability? Do you want something to last a long time or do you not have a problem with waxing once a month.

You can use whatever you want. Don't be fooled into thinking that one single wax will be the ultimate for dark colors (ok, maybe Souveran). The single most important thing is proper preparation of the paint's surface. Any wax mentioned here or in this thread will be nothing without the proper prep. You can even roll with the Turtle Wax Platinum Series on a perfectly prepped surface if you want. The reviews here are very positive.

Some may enhance flake in the paint and others may darken the paint. The point is, you can choose anything and not know the difference between them after it's been applied to your paint.

Also do a search. This question has been discussed a million times.

The idea is to buy some, play around a make a decision for yourself. I disagree with some of whats been mentioned here as recommendations for the "best" as your title says. Experimenting and deciding on your own is the enjoyment of detailing.

There is zero right answer to this question. Taste is in the eye of the beholder.

Cheapest and easiest to find- Mequiars NXT liquid

More money, alot more money-Pinnacle Souveran (I bought this product just for use on dark colored/red cars per everyones praises here) I'm expecting GREAT things from this product this year.

S100 is said to have more emphasis on shine rather than durability and I can tell you its one of the easiest to use products out there. Its found at any Harley-Davison dealership or online, good luck to you!

As above, depends on your definition...but, if you want the shiniest, glossiest look with easy on/off and good durability, then Mothers FX Synwax. Two coats and you'll need to wear sunglasses.

I believe #21 may have a similar look, but FX is shinier than NXT.

I'm with Scott on this one. What do you mean by "shine factor"? I don't think the other posters thought much about what you meant (no offense). They just applied their own personal definition to your term. Also, I don't follow whether or not you are saying that the surface will be prepped before the wax is applied. Also, do you have a price limit? Is ease of use a factor? I think your inquiry is incomplete and not well worded.

There is no real answer to this question. There is no such thing as "best wax". It's like asking "What is the best music to put on for a candlelight dinner?" This guy says Sinatra, that guy says Brahms, third guy says Chet Baker.
