Best vaccum cleaner for carpet?

Been out of the game for awhile. Been using my little shop-vac for carpet cleaning. I realize though, that it doesn't have the strength to pick up dirt like my dyson vaccum does for the home carpet.

Wondering what vaccums you guys are using that have better efficiency at picking dirt up then the conventional ones?

Thanks,

HondaGuy2582- Hey, good to see you posting here :wavey

I have an old Hoover cannister vac that got demoted from household to garage duty. For carpeted floormats and other large areas, I even use the powerhead attachment, works great.

I am lucky enough to have an air compressor to help with cleaning all parts of the car, but carpets are done as follows; Blow off the whole mat, paying attention to the compressed/dirtiest areas, then using a Shop Vac 930-10-11 (Vac & Blower) to vacuum the carpet out. It's a 4 horsepower (peak) vac that really does a great job. I also use to blow water out/off of nooks and crannies of the vehicles. It's one of the most versatile tools I have in the garage.

Hope this helps.
