Best sealant/wax for license plate?

Just got the tags for my new car this week. I want to clean and protect them before I stick them on the car (we have front and rear tags here in MD). Plates are white with black lettering. I was thinking of some PB's PP followed by EX x2, and maybe top with Natty's. Think that would make for some super shiny, easy to clean plates? Are there any differences from the paint on the car and the license plate?

Thanks.

Never really thought about that one before. I suppose you should just treat it the same as you would your paint. Put some sealant on it and top it off if you wish. Good luck!

I'd use SSR2.5 on the PC at 4.5-5 and a polish pad.
Then SSR1 at speed 4 with a finishing pad
Followed by VM by hand.
And EX-p x3 for extra durability.

Just use EX-P like wheels.
:D

Just throw a couple coats of SG on there and be done. It's not like we're looking for any kind of shine or anything, so just protect it with a good sealant.

I'm hopfully getting new plates for my Legend. Before I put them on I'll probably try some EX on them just for fun.

PS: The new plates are going to say "91LSMAN" :)

Be careful with plates. They use reflective paint or decals on them and I would be leary about using a wax or sealant on them.

I treat my plate like the rest of the paint. Polish with PP and then EX-P. Then I put the plastic cover and chrome plastic frame on the them. This really helps with bugs on the front plate. I got the frames w/cover (cover comes in clear, smoke, and red tint) at Advance Auto Parts.

I got personalized plates for my F-250 Superduty. It says GO*UBET. I took them to my friends body shop and had him put clear coat on them. Then put EX-P x 2. You can see my truck on Poorboys website. Lots of BLING!!

I was just kidding before.
You guys really do polish your license plates.

Wow, I'm impressed.
