Best polish/wax combo for a 1991 model white car?

What would be the best products to use on my 1991 Integra with Polar white original paint. There are a couple of stone chips on the front bar, but that's about it. I really want the paint to POP. The only thing is I live in Australia, so alot of the products are not available here. We do have Meguiars, Mothers, Zymol, Turtle Wax, Sonax, Eagle One, Auto Glym and some other cheap brands.

Up to now I was using Meguairs #7, #26 and that's about it with regular washing and QD'ing it remove daily grime.

Thanks

Yes, it's possible. But this question gets asked all the time here. (Best combo on white ... Best combo on black ... Best combo on read ... Best combo on Virginia Wahoo Silvermist ... yadayada ...) I guess folks are just short on energy tonight.

Bottom line: It's all about personal choice. And, as you'll see in my sig line, it's also ALL about process -- not product.

You also pose an interesting wrinkle in that many of the "favorites" around here require Internet-ordering (Klasse, Zaino, e.g.), which would be awfully expensive for you.

Personally, at first I used the same combo you're discussing -- Megs #7 & #26 -- on my old white car. The look was very deep and warm and liquid. I liked it. Now I use Zaino, particularly for the durability of a sealant over any wax.

I'd also suggest you use a clay bar on the car. ClayMagic and Mothers are both excellent, and readily available at U.S. retail stores, but not sure about accessibility for you. Read the articles here about claying.

And you may need to do a bit of polishing. Again, David's articles (at the Learn icon) will provide a good intro. Then click on the Reviews link to read about some of the internationally-available ones like Meguiars and 3M brand.

Does that help at all?

Here are my recommendations with regard to taking care of your Polar White 1991 Integra.

You may want to consider going with Meguiar's #2 Fine Cut Cleaner, and #6 Cleaner, topped with a coat of #20 Polymer Sealant.

The #2 will cut right thru the imbedded dirt that builds up, that's especially visible on older white vehicles.

The #6 will help to further clean and polish the surface. Giving you the luster that you're looking for with your Polar White paint.

The #20 will then help to provide the protection without unnecessary wax build-up.

Keep in mind that the #7 is more of a polish rather than a cleaner. Of course #7 will help to clean the surface but in most cases you should really be using a product that is designed to clean.

Also, #26 is a very good product, however, when it's applied to a white vehicle I have found that in time it could actually make a white vehicle look like it's retaining more dirt. And #26 is harder to strip off when it's time to reclean and polish your white car. Using #20 as a protective top coat seems to work much better, offering better results.

Just my thoughts...

Lynn & mirrorfinishman

Thank you both very much, that will help greatly, I think like many I was hoping in vain that there was magical product that would do everything with no effort *yes I was foolish*

I think Lynn's sig has clearly shown the errors of my ways, cheers.

I will post pics once I finally get my car to the standard of many of the cars on here

I've been using Poorboys products on my white truck and the look is fantastic. Yes...It POPS!

www.poorboysworld.com Call him and you'll get first class assistance with years of detailing and body shop experience.

Use his SSR's for swirl or scratch removal, then his Pro Polish or Polish with Carnuba and then his sealant...EX (which has carnuba) or the new one EX-P without carnuba.
