Best polish to use prior to souveran

I have been corrupted in a matter of a week and my Souveran is on the way.

What polish do you recommend using prior?

Imperial hand glaze? The polish that comes in the Souveran kit?

What do you guys recommend for a BLACK car with Glazurit paint?

If your paint is new all you need is pinnicale polish. you will get a great shine. I've also used 3m hand glaze for dark color on a black 2002 Honda Accord and the shine was unheard of. Souveran is a kick a-- wax and you will never use anything else again. Just remember to use very little on each section, and layer after 8 hours.

Thanks for the reply. I thought I was a fanatic until I was referred to this site.

I have read so many good things about Souveran on black cars that I had to order some.

I have been a 3M + Zymol fanatic since 88. I even love the "cheap" Zymol cleaner wax, and have had excellent results with it on my black car.

If sites like this did not exist, I would never have found out about so many different products and techniques.

I always thought a polish cleaned my paint and made it shine so I didn't use a wax for a while.

For a long time (my first detailing summer) I only used Meguiars show car glaze and 3M Swirl Remover. That was it for the paint and I never complained. I come here and I find reasons to complain so I can buy more.

I'm hooked, oh yea, I smell every bottle of every detailing supply I get, an old habit that my family makes fun of, I have to smell everything.

If the paint is in very good to perfect shape, the Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion that comes with the kit is great stuff.:xyxthumbs

I think I'll give the pinnacle polish a try prior. I'll let you guys know how it compares to the imperial hand glaze on my combo.

Thanks again for the replies.

I use S100, super cheap and gives a lovely finish.

P21S = same thing but $15 more :P

I think i'll check out Souveran this weekend and see how much different (apart from the $$$) it is.

drrac2- You've got a LOT of options here, as Souveran will bond to just about anything. The Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion (PPCL) is VERY VERY mild, as polishes go; it's just SLIGHTLY abrasive. What I'd do in your place is try the IHG (which seems to have worked well for you in the past) in between the PPCL and the Souveran. Try it on a small area; if you don't like it, just use the PPCL again to take the IHG off, but I think it will "wet" your finish a little better than the PPCL. I've found them to be more complimentary products than either/or.

Thanks for the advice. Still waiting for Souveran + DAY OFF + GOOD WEATHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be in touch.
