What is the best interior shampoo that you have used that leaves the carpet really fluffy and removes all the dirt and brown spots around mats etc that also smells nice thanks.

I heard the Hi-Temp products from www.topoftheline.com are ok and others but im not sure anyone test any of the Hi-Temp products fleet.

Site works but there links inside are down does the magnum shampoo produce alot of foam or i tried this turtle wax interior cleaner its a big red bottle with a brush on top didnt do nothing to the dirt. :(

I hope you did not use it on your AMG vehicle :p

If you want the best and I mean the best get Meguiar's All Purpose Cleaner Plus, I use this on every single car I detail. It takes stains right out and has fabric brightners in it.

You dilute is 9:1 for carpet cleaning.

I have tried just about everything on the market and this gives me the best results. It is also priced the best as well.

You can also use it for Vinyl cleaning, Wheel cleaning, white walls, you name it, it cleans it.

Prestone is the best I have used so far....

Are you talking about this stuff?

On a side note, I've got the Woolite Foam Carpet Cleaner. It comes in a blue spray bottle. Spray a nice rich foam, and you just work it in with a brush. After it dries just vacuum it. Gets rid of pet odor and leaves a pleasant smell.

Heh Funny thats the exact same bottle as the turtle wax stuff i bought along time ago before I i started to come to autopia.org and learned about the goodies.

how do you rinse? just take a hose to the carpet or use a spray bottle?

Interesting question, and I too will await an answer. I am unconvinced that short of the use of an extractor we leave soap residue in our carpets which certainly attracts more dirt than the original dirty carpet. Last week, after "washing" two carpeted floor mats one with Blue Coral Dri-Clean and the other with American Shine's Carpet, Vinyl & Upholstery cleaner, I rinsed with spray bottle and damp/wet towel (as per my usual routine), and followed with my wet/dry vac. Curious, I took one mat and hit it with a blast of water. Sure enough a good amount of soap water was flushed out. I then did the other mat with the same results. I ended up rinsing both mats well and allowed them to air dry. Unfortunately I can't do this with the entire carpet. So I hope all of you enterior cleaning gurus will chime in on the rinsing aspect of interior carpet and upholstery cleaning.

I would not take a hose to the carpeting. you can soak through the carpeting into the padding and it will take forever to dry.

Then in a few days you will end up smelling a real bad smell in the car.

If anyone has ever smelled a flood vehicle they smell real bad because of all the dampness.

That is why i love meg's all purpose cleaner plus.

vacuum the car, then spray apc+ use a carpet brush and work it into the carpeting, make sure you get all stains and dirt out.

then just vacuum it up. works great and drys very quickly.

Altho Jngrbrd is the carpet guru (i get to do windows. yay ....:angry ) on the ones i've done, the foam cleaner and the agitation of the brush actually lifts the dirt out of the carpet, or certainly up into the top of the carpet pile so you can vacuum it out.

That why I steer away from using a liquid type cleaner as that'll wash it back in.

Buy some Prestone, give a dirty carpet a scrub and check out the brush head .....

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

Least its in the brush and not the carpet tho.

Prestone is the bomb. I don't think Autopia has the server space for me to post all the examples of terrible carpet that has been restored thanks to that. I bought a case of it last year off ebay and need to buy another. Aside from Advanage concentrate it is the best carpet cleaner I've ever used and I've used a ton of them. It doesn't do much for gum, but no carpet foam does really. You pretty much need to freeze that stuff and then break it out. We had a funny product like that to get gum out of the carpet when I worked maintainance for JC Penney several years ago. It was pretty cool. As for coffee stains and soda stains then you can't get better than Prestone. Other products may be equal to it but I haven't used anything that is better than it. Of course everybody is going to have their opinions and their favorites but for me it doesn't get better than Prestone. :bow :bow :bow

I myself like Ammonia and water 1cup to 1gallon cleans great and leaves no dirt catching film . I mix it up in a bucket dunk in a towel wring out rub down carpet and wipe with a dry towel you will be amazed at how dirty your water will get . You can also use Woolite mixed 6 to 1 I tried it and it workes good.Scott came up with this one

I still love my Folex!!

I have tried cleaners that are not even available to the public (from my brother's carpet cleaning company), and Folex still holds its own very well! I just bought another 6 bottles of Folex last weekend!!

Everyone will have their favorites, but if you find one that works for you, use it! :xyxthumbs

Thanks NY Detailer. I used to use Simple green with a 50:50 mix, and I was happy with the results. I used to spot treat first with Folex which works awsome. Now I use the mix you suggested and it works really well.

Thanks.......,

Clint
