hey everyone. I need alittle help with my new to me 2000 Mustang GT. She's black in color, which means alot of the imperfections show. I have some light swirling all over the car. Being in the Army and living in the barracks, my access to detailing products is very limited. I wish I had my PC here with me, but that has to wait til I can move off post to live. In the mean time, what's the best hand polish out there? It's jut some light to moderate swirling, nothing too major. I'll try to get some pics in the mean time. Any help appreciated, thanks!

If you can mailorder, I'd go with 1Z polishes, my hands-down choice for working by hand. Paint Polish and/or the MetallicPolishWax, but note that the latter is *VERY* mild.

Here is what I just recently discovered on my own. Any polish will perform MUCH, MUCH BETTER if you use a Polishin' Pal with a Finishing pad. Before the Polishin' Pal, I used a microfiber towel to apply my polish (M80). Although the MF worked ok, it was a very tricky process that had to be worked just right, or I would have MORE micromarring than I started with.

Now, with the Polishin' Pal, I can casually rub the polish in, and BAM, great finish everytime !!! And, the Polishin' Pal requires LESS WORKING of the polish than it did with the microfiber.

By the way, I now use Zaino ZPC by hand using the Polishin' Pal with a blue Lake Country Finishing pad. Works FANATASIC for removing swirls. But, the credit goes to the Polishin' Pal (the Finishing pad, actually), not the brand of polish. :bounce

Foam only IMO for hand polishing, microfibre should be left for applying paint sealants

An ultra thick rectangular pad is my choice

Can't wait to start using my PC

Accumulator and I are always in agreement on that point. :) I'd go with 1Z PP with a cotton terry, followed with 1Z MP (for black, by MF or foam app.)

Yes, PakShak is the only U.S. dealer I order from these days! Excellent service and customer support, and prices are the same as the mainland.
