Of the two, I preferred 303. I used both on my old Mazda Miata top, and the 303 seemed to protect better and left a nice matte sheen.

Another vote for 303. I did it on my Dad's Mustang vinyl top and it left a nice deep sheen. He doesn't drive it in the rain so it's still lookin great!

It is a `99 Cabrio and the top is definitely vinyl. The fabric top is more expensive and is also available for the Cabrio. Looks like 303 is getting the votes!

Is it really vinyl? The reason I ask is because a friend of mine who used to work at a detailing shop says all they used on vinyl tops was Mop and Glo! LOL Yep, I nearly fell over when he told me that but he says nothing will last longer on exterior vinyl.

I've not personally tried it since I don't have anything with a vinyl top but if I did I would at least try it in a small, inconspicuous spot to see for myself.

I have not used Mop and Glo but I have used Mop and Shine that is sold at Dollar General for $2 and says compare with Mop and Glo. But not on vinyl. I have an old truck with a rear bumper that was badly faded and a couple of times tried things like AIO just to see if it would work. Well it was such a rough texture it didn`t help. One day I sprayed it down good with Mop and Shine and let it dry. that has probably been 4 months ago or more and it still looks great. Brought the gloss black right back to it. Amazing stuff. Some use it to spray in faded fender wells and it works ok for that too. This Cabrio is a car my girlfriend is getting today and I better not take any chances so I think I will stay away from any experimenting. Maybe some time I will sneak around the corner with a sprayer and blast away if temtation gets the better of me:)

I have always used 303 however it has recently come to my attention that Poorboys Natural Look is also suitible for vinal roof aplication.

In the past when using 303 ...My only compliant is that its very thin so it runs all over the place! Also after aplication the first time it rains I get an oil like slick all over my car!

I may actually going to do a little experiment this weekend.....I don't think it will do any harm(please let me know what you think)

Split my roof up into 4 taped off sections.

Section 1: Natural Look
Section 2: 303 protectant
Section 3: Natural look to dry 303 over natural look
Section 4: 303 to dry Natrual look over

Sounds like a great idea for an experiment. I've tried the 303 on one side and Vinylex on the other test before, but I never attempted the layering piece. Please be sure to prep the roof with a mild cleaning agent to provide a fresh starting point for all the products. Keep us posted on your findings! :)

Focusedonsound,
I am glad you pointed that out about the possibility of an oily runoff so I will try to make sure the outlook is for clear weather for a while before applying. It may help to have a few days to cure. Not considering other products right now is because I have both Vinylex and 303. Thanks everyone for the info:)
