Best Applicators!

So I have been bothered lately by what type of applicator I can use for dressings, especially tire dressing, and I believe I finally came up with a solution!!!

Simply take one of those bone shaped wash sponges (or any wash sponge) and first, cut it in 4 sections, then cut those in half. You now have 8 foam applicators about 2"x2"x3" which I find to be about the perfect size, and you won't believe the cost of this amazing tool...$1-2! I will buy another one tomorrow to take some pictures, but to say that least, I am satisfied after dressing the whole car.

nice idea, glad it works for you. i've been using the EO1 tire swipes for years, and have switched over to using these as they seem to do a better job in applying the tire dressing more evenly...

I have been using the Eagle 1 tire swipe as well...but i do wash them after every use in the washing machine...just to get the old Endurance outta there....they fall apart over time..i like this sponge idea i might have to try this with a grout sponge

I think grout sponges would be perfect because they're so tough. My problems with tire dressing applicators is they get torn up too fast.

so you can use a grout sponge for tire dressing, but not for wax for car? I know you can use them for car washing.

I guess you can use them to paint your house if you want to, but your question was are they microfiber.

this is what I use for most tires, I have the larger, say 4 inch ones for trucks and larger walls

I use the 'bone shaped' sponge cut up at sharp angles to get as close to the rims edge without touching. I don't like the Grout Sponges for this task as their air pockets are too big and hold too much product for my preference. I like firm, tight, tiny holes ... ummmm ... of course I'm talking with regard to sponges for applying tire dressing as on this thread ... and maybe a few more places that also would get 'too close to the edge' for this thread.

HEY ... LOOK AT THE TIME ... I've got to go to bed.

Good night all. :xyxthumbs

That is exactly what I am doing right now. Just cut up a few grout sponges to see how that works though. Just the bone sponges cut up here though:
