Benz rims

A co-worker just got a 95 Benz and asked what he could use to clean the rims safely. They look to be satin aluminum. I have heard that Simple Green is a no-no on aluminum. Anybody have some suggestions as to a good, safe, easy-to-find wheel cleaner? I have Meg's Citri-Gel, would that be safe to use?

I am actually looking for something that he coud go to his local Pep Boys and buy. I could let him borrow my SSR2 for the initial cleaning (with proper $100,000 collateral to make sure I get it back), but for subsequent cleanings find something for him to use (I told him to clean them weekly so they wouldn't get stained with brake dust) that he can go out and buy easily. There is a local paint supply shop just down the road from work where he could buy the Meg's Citri-Gel, just want to know what people's experience is with it on aluminum.

oh...I would recommend Bluemagic ...nasty smell of amonia, and you must wear gloves, but works real well...

My '98 Benz has that aluminum looking rim..however, if you look closely..mine are really painted then clearcoated. On my rims..by far..the best product I have used , is Eagle One A2Z wheel cleaner. Locally available..Walmart, Target, Autozone, etc. Spray on..agitate a little with an old paintbrush..rinse. I then dry them and add a coat of Collinite Insulator Wax..it really helps the next time you have to clean them..in fact I can now ususally use just a GPC diluted and brake dust comes right off.
