Benefit to layering on top of 1z Glanz Wax

Hi All,

I am brand new here and just learning about all this detailing business as I just got a new to me car.

I read a few big threads about what is the wettest look LSP and what were the most surprising products etc.

Anyway I am wondering if I would see any benefit looks wise by applying something on top of the Einszett Glanz Wax that I already used. I purchased quite a bit of the Einszett stuff as a kit prior to learning what I read here. (Overall though I have been pretty impressed by the line though and the Glanz wax applied very easy)

I have the Einszett spray wax also, but I was just wondering if it is possible or if there would be value in topping it off with some of the products I have read about here, like: Danase Wet Glaze, Optimum Car Wax, Duragloss Aquawax or something else you may recommend.

If it matters the color of the car is a silver gray metallic. This has been a super informative forum for me thus far and I have never even posted....thanks for any help you can provide.

It's all subjective. The best thing to do is experiment and see if layering offers any additional benefit to your eye. Your perception will never match mine or his or hers. Therefore, there is no definite answer to your question. The good news is that there are TONS of products out there to play with...the bad news is that there are TONS of products out there to play with.

I personally don't layer different products too often. I like seeing what a product can bring to the table. I also don't usually apply more than 2 coats, and that's just to ensure coverage.

I'm sure others will chime in on this. Take your time and read through the "Click & Brag" and "Pro Details Before & After" sections. You'll get plenty of ideas there. However, pictures can only go so far in terms of translating the actual finish. Good luck and welcome.

Perfect answer........And you are using quality products. If you really like what you have then by all means keep using it. 1Z products are really top quality, you'd be hard pressed to use something more discernible.

Thanks for taking the time to respond so quickly. I really appreciate it. Sounds like very reasonable advice. Maybe next time I place an order somewhere, I will just pick up ONE of the options and give it a try, but nothing pressing. You just see so many folks posting this is great, this is great, I love this stuff. It gets a bit overwhelming and you start to think you need it to. I see how folks can end up with a bazillion different products. After at the most spending $10-12 on wax, buying armor-all, and cotton wash mitts for all my previous life, this whole thing is like a new world to me.

(A little off topic, but only after learning so much in the last few weeks did I realize that I once was given some very nice collonite wax by my cousin who had received about 20 cans from a family friend who was getting rid of it)

Anyway, Thanks!

1Z make some of the BEST products available. You should be happy you started so high up the quality ladder. :)

If you are bored, and it sounds like you want a little more shine, grab some of the Aquawax next time you are at a Carquest. It is great stuff and definitely adds some more shine to silver.

Thanks guys.

I think I might just pick up some aquawax to try when I get a chance since I can get it locally.
