Before p21s?

Im sorry if this has been covered before. I searched, but there are 9 pages under 'First time p21s'

I am going to use my new P21s next weekend for the first time. Before i had used EO Carnauba Wax. Are there any procedures i should do before topping with P21s Carnauba? Should i strip off the old wax first? Or would it be ok just to use my normal procedure (wash, clay, wax) just with the new p21s. I have paint cleaners i use sometimes, but only when needed.

I will get pictures on here when i finally get a good day to do it. I hope it looks as good on lighter colors as it does on dark colors.

Remember to read the directions, I don't think P21S needs time to dry on the surface like the EO. Just wipe on one panel and wipe off.

I would wash, clay if needed, and give the car a fine hand polishing with a very gentle paint cleanser.

Polishing with Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion with the PC and white polishing pad did wonders on a 2001 yellow mustang Yaz and I detailed this weekend. The car was in excellent shape, with very minor wash swirling. The PC and Pinnacle made the yellow glow and the Souveran just added to that.

A good hand polishing will definately add to the shine of P21S. I have heard great reviews of the P21S paint cleanser.

Thanks. I read the directions. Very little. I have just heard that the paint needed extra prep before using a different wax.

I would also suggest using P21S's paint cleansing lotoin or S100's before you wax. While I have not used it personally (waiting to try it now--have both the lotion and S100 paste wax ready once mother nature allows me to play!), I have a buddy who used S100 and then used s100 after going over the car with the lotion--he said the results were much better and really improved the shine and depth of the s100.

i have used s100 before by itself. I then tried the s100 sepc first then s100 wax. there is a difference. the finish came out slicker and shinier. the two products really work well together.

I have used the P21S PCL, and I will back up your buddies comments. I start with a SMR, then PCL and then P21S wax. The PCL really makes it sparkle :)

Your results with using P21S alone will not be as good. P21S is a pure non-cleaning carnauba protectant. If there is any oxidation or surface hazing it will still show up as duller/ hazy areas after using P21S or any non-cleaning carnauba. Remember - PREP is everything. By hand applying P21S GEPC ( it is THAT easy ) you will greatly enhance your final product. There are other fine paint cleansers out there and many raze about Mother's Seal and Glaze which is locally available. Which ever one you choose to use prior to applying P21S wax will make you glad you did.:xyxthumbs

I have used GEPC applied with a PC and a white polishing pad prior to either a polish for a sealant or P21S with great success. GEPC will make P21S shine better for sure.
