My son and I were on a mission to obtain a twenty five cent washer from the hardware store this evening. While waiting for service I decided to chase my son down the power tool isle, this way he could jog and I could eye some tools;) Our Ace hardware doesn't carry Porter Cable tools, so I decided to run by Lowes to pick up a flyer and eye:cool: my future PC purchase. I remember reading on this forum that someone had gotten an discount @ Lowes for the PC being in a beaten up box. So I'm at the PC display and I look down to my surprise, a single beaten down, mummy taped box! Now, mind you last week there were two brand new perfect boxed units on the shelf :woot: At, this point DJ catches the eye of the lady who's working power tools this evening. So I figured I had nothing to loose, and asked about the PC. She takes the box and does an inventory check, to find that its the last one in the stock. I asked if I could get a discount for the beaten up box, she agrees to a 10%, all the while my son is flirting with her and doing things that four year olds do that women find adorable. At this point I'm ready to buy, so I ask her if they sell safety glasses for four year olds. She admits she wasn't sure and directed me to a different isle. I go to check it out, to return to my suprise of an additional five percent discount off my PC. I go to thank her and she replys, no problem your son is soo cute!

Going to have to start bringing DJ with me to Lowes more often;)

Now has anyone tried the Edge 2000 pads?

Is centering the pad a REAL problem w/the pc?

Today, was a good day, fixed a leak & got a PC:woot:

Centering the pad can be tricky, depending on which backing plates and/or pads you are using. My favorite thing about Propel pads is the fact that they are so easy to center...provided you have a Propel backing plate as well. the 5" plate fits right into a 5" slightly recessed area on the back of the pad.

I used to have problems with centering when I used my Meguiars pads and the factory backing plate. I haven't used my meg's pads or factory plate for a while now...

holland_patrick, did you use the single sided pads before using the excel 2000's? If so how do they compare? I would like more info, haven't had much luck with the search button in dealing with the 2000 pads.

Right now I'm doing a price comparsion between the propel & sonus pads.

Thanks,

Duan
