Beating a dead (product) horse, but need help!

Alright, guys. Before anyone says anything- I have been reading- and reading- and reading.

I'm trying to decide on what products to use for the upcoming detailing season, now that I am "PC-Powered":D

I'd rather not have to continually order product via. the 'net i.e. Poorboy's, but everyone raves about their lineup.

I can get Meg's locally, and have heard about how easy #83/#80 is, but would the results compare to SSR2.5/SSR1?

Also, would #20 be comparable as far as ease of use, shine and durability, to EX-P? If not, is there a Meg's product that is?

I currently have #16 and NXT for day to day waxes, but think a good sealant is in order for customers.

I like the idea of EX/EX-P, but along with the SSR's, am leary of all the shipping and extra fees that entails.

All positive thoughts welcome.:nixweiss

Thanks for all the information I have read though- I'd be nowehere without what I've gained fromthis site.:xyxthumbs

My personal experience with the products you have listed would warrant you to read my review of The 3M Perfect it III Machine Glaze . Keep in mind this is "my" opinion and you can probably find the 3M MG locally to save on the shipping costs. On the other hand, I have been and always will be a huge fan of EX and EX-P.. They are a couple of awesome sealants:up

I'm also a pretty big fan of EX-P and I buy it in gallons. I would stick with the Megs polishes and compounds because personally I don't think that they can be beat and they are cheaper then Poorboys polishes and compounds.

I've never used #20 but I've asked around a while ago and didn't get a lot of good responses, seems like an average product.

Along with NXT, Id throw Wolfgang into consideration also, I find it to be a great product that is easy to use ( can be "dusty" if applied to thick though ).

And EX or EX-P as they both work well in the sun here in Australia where it can get darn hot ( think 105 degrees on a black car! ). I have found EX-P is better than EX but they are both OK as long as you do a panel at a time and work reasonably quickly. Its far from ideal but with paying customers, sometimes you dont get that luxury.......

If Meguiars products are readily available to you, then use the #80 line to polish out your car (hard to recommend exaclty where to start without seeing your car) and finish off with #20 topped with #16 or either #20 or 16 by themselves. #20 has light cleaning ability, so don't waste time trying to layer it.

Thanks, guys (and Steve, for the PM)

This is for new customer's cars more than my own, hence why I'm so concerned with ease of use and durability.

I know for some I'd need #83, but #80 should do lots of the time.

I'm mostly stuck on the sealant- guess PBs gets my nod, depite haveing to mail-order.

Seems as if PBs EX/EX-P, WG, Klasse are mostly what's reccommended right now- but WG is a little pricey.

Again- thanks, and I hope to be able to post some pics of the better results once I startup in the spring!

Cheers,

Kevin
