Baked On Bug-Juice !!!

I detailed a TOTALLY TRASHED Corolla today. Spent a total of 7 hours and one of those hours was on the front bumper.

The man said the car hadn't been washed or cleaned in 3 years!!!

This thing had BAKED on bugs from 3 years ago!

Soap and water?, HA...wouldn't even touch it.

Bug & tar remover?....NO Way.... didn't phase it!

Clay bar? Fat Chance....removed about 20% of bugs...

I was tempted to WET-SAND IT!!!

(It's alright...calm down!)

FINALLY....I resorted to my old standby buddy...One Grand Special Touch!!! VOILA! Worked great. Took some elbow grease, but got all the bugs off in about 30 minutes.

Them some tuff bugs.....

Interior? Enough to make a grown detailer cry.... (but $220 bucks in my pocket...)

I hate those cars, totally trash your supplies, but they truely look like a different car when your done. Good job man. Where do I get this one grand stuff?

Engine AFTER...

Saturated with Simple Green.

Soaked 5 minutes.

Agitate with long handle tire brush.

Rinse with a trickle of water.

Saturate engine bay with Tire Foam.

Wipe off excess.

Close hood.

Best 10-bucks you can spend.

Awesome Job Luster, did you wet vac or extractor shampoo the carpet?

Spraying tire foam over the entire engine bay would be dangerous where the electric bits and all the non rubber/plastic bits wouldn't it?

I use a Hoover "Steam Vac" attachment for the carpets and upholstery.

Also, I cover the coil-pack and all other electrical devices before I spray the foam.

What did you use for the interior? Great Job

For cleaning plastics / vinyls I used a MF towel and warm water. Then topped with 303 Protectant.

For the carpet and fabric seating I used Bissel carpet & upholstery cleaner for Steam Vac's.

303 on rubber floor mats.

303 on ugly steering wheel cover...
