Bad Paint -- Any hope?

I've got a Toyota pickup with some pretty bad paint damage. It appears that the clear coat is pretty well shot. I have tried wet sanding and polishing, but the the result was a shiny but cloudy finish.



After wetsanding, I used Megs #1 and then Megs #82 with a PC. (that is what I had to work with at the time)



Any suggestions? I don't have much to lose since it is a 20+ year old vehicle.

vt92- The pics look like extensive clearcoat failure to me, beyond just serious oxidation. I'm thinking "repaint time".
