Since I redirected my business last year, I haven't had the need to do correction work........until now. I have several customers that now want some polishing work done. Being out of the loop for this long, I need some advice. I see the new system by Meguiars. I see Uno has a new update and that Optimum has their new system.



Need some feed back on what you guys are using.
 
Im no pro but I have really liked Meguairs Microfiber cutting disc and finish with Buff and Shine foam pads, polishes lately I ahve been using D300, M105, UNO, Menz P203, Menz 85rd
 
I'm no pro either but I take care of a healthy stable myself. I've gotten well with 105, 205 and a few menzernas. Always do a test spot and always use multiple good lighting sources.

X2 -The MF pad system is a must! DA all the way.

The MF system is an absolute must-have. It has replaced anything else on probably 80-90% of the work I do.
 
Welcome back. M105, D300(to moderate 105s dust) and 205 have really been developed in technique as well to save substantial time on the paints that respond to it. Very quick work when paired with foam and MF cutting discs.



Most people are using a dedicated finishing polish after the 105 or D300 step though, with foam.

Absolutely. My go too for this last season on almost every car was D300 on a Microfiber cutting disc then 205 on a Black Lake Country pad to finish. If I needed more punch, I did a drop of D300 and 105 or just straight 105 on the mf cutting disc, and in the event that 205 wouldn't finish down (which was rare for me) I'd just substitute 106ff. The mf system (at least for cutting) has simplified my setup quite a bit and saves me a lot of time.

Looks like I'll be ordering up Meg's MF kit from ADS ASAP! Gotta love acronyms!
 
Meguiars MF system (Optimum only has polishing MF pads right now, don't know when the cutting ones will be available) and D300, #105, #205 and both Optimum spray polishes are a good start. Still find the rotary faster on Audis.
 
Thanks Scott. I only maintain on Audi TT and I actually marred the paint on it with 205! Was really soft.....and black.
 
Black Audi pant is soft but I still seem to get better results using a rotary on them. #205 and Ultrafina works wonders on them.
 
If you are doing paint corrections for someone selling a car, then definitely. D300 and D301 and done. Not too sure how long the wax lasts but it is a fast, easy step and leaves the paint super slick. Just the thing for someone wanting the paint to look as good as possible for a sale but not wanting to spend too much.
