Aztec carpet extractor questions

I just received the Aztec hot-spot extractor. I tried it out on a spot that has been on our home carpet for about 1 year... I sprayed the home carpet with Adam's carpet cleaner, brushed it using a tooth brush, and tried to extract using hot water inside the extractor...but it didn't really get rid of it.



What do I need to do to make it work? Is this extractor meant to be for auto carpet only?



Please provide your thoughts...any feedback is greatly appreciated...thank you!
