AW gives you a sealant "wet-look" shine, very slick surface. OCW gives you deep wet gloss very close to as you would get with top paste carnauba wax, metallic flakes pop better with OCW. I prefer the look of OCW though the slickness of AW beats OCW. Durability is not an issue for me since both are so easy to use that I can applied it often.
On light metallic color cars I prefer layering OCW than AW, to me AW kind of hiding all metallic flakes.
