Autoglym & Blitz

I spent the day cleaning my farthers car today, as he has a digi cam, I took some pictures of my car. It has been just under a week since I last cleaned, but I think it does not look that bad.

The first picture is the reflection of the wing on an open door.

Looks great, nice work! :bow

Seems like a lifetime ago since Alfas were sold here in the USA. Still see GTVs and Spyders every once in a while.

Great work, Steve.

I believe that you use the Autoglym High Gloss sealant and not the Resin polish. Is this what you used on your father's car? If so, what did you use to prep the surface, how many coats of HG did you use before the Blitz, and how many coats of Blitz? Just curious.

Thanks, Kes.

I used the Resin polish on its own and then put a layer of Blitz wax on a few days later. I have tried putting Blitz ontop of the Gloss but on my car it does not seem to look as good as on my farthers BMW. Dont know why :nixweiss

I have never tried to layer wax, as such but I have put additional coats on over a 2 month period. I have not really noticed an increase in shine or depth but it does help keep the paintwork looking good and feeling slick.

If you ask me, different cars just plain out look better. I could spend all day on a brand new Camaro and spend all day on a year old Benz and I would bet money the Benz would look better in the end. Maybe it's the paint, the way the car is painted, the clear coat, the body panel itself, I don't know...
