Im curious as to which vendor to go with for mf, I need your basic polish/wax remover mf. Along with good ww drying towels, glass towels, general use towels(wheels, door trimb, things of that nature) Im wanting best bang for the buck since ill be buying in bulk, im wanting something for customers cars that is good quality as well as excellent longevity.

If you're buying in bulk qty's I'd think price would be the main concern. Have you negotiated pricing and terms with these suppliers?

All three offer excellent products. The product diffs between them will be minor.

A.K.A. Patrick at Excel Detail also has some nice MF's at good prices:

There are several good MF vendors out there, you should order a sample selection from some of them and see which ones give you the price/performance that you're looking for.

For doing doorjambs, wheels, etc. save some money and buy some cheap ones from Wal-Mart.

The Autopian price list for pakshak is listed in this thread:

Hi Sean,

Thank you for your reply. That’s great! Please find below the quote as requested.

$22.50 for ten (10) – 16 x 16 Ultra MF towels (light blue, mint green, or dark green)

$72.00 for six (6) – 25 x 36 WW MF towels (light blue)

$14.00 for shipping and handling via USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation

So the total cost of your quote is $108.50 shipped to you anywhere in the USA.

PakShak the only vendor I have exchanged emails with and that is what they had to say.

I just emailed pakshak and Ranney replied with the pricing im assuming you would email him first, he responds very quickly.

Pakshak is somewhat pricey normally but Ranney is offering superb deals for Autopians now.

I think their MF is simply the best (the ultrafine is the absolute best stuff I have found) but I use several vendors for my collection..also good is Sonus from Autopia, anything from Wayne's Towels, and PB MegaPlush.

For cheap MF towels for wheels, engines, door jambs, etc., try Costco. I bought a package of 16 today for $11. I understand that they have lots of lint, so wash them several times.

Regards,

Dan.

How about ordering a few from each vendor and then basing your decision on who you feel provides the best quality and service? If you are going to drop some serious $$$ on towels, you might as well try as many as you can.

"try Costco. I bought a package of 16 today for $11. "

Yes, I use these as well given the low cost. I think the quality is great for the money if used on low end jobs.

I third the try them out first, but I've gotten several from both PakShak and YoSteve, and love them. Er, the MFs ;-)

I just recieved my first order from PakShak and tried them out over the weekend. Here are my thoughts.

1) These are the softest MF towels and applicator pads I have

used.

2) Get the Autopia discount. Just email Ranney Pak at

ranney@pakshak.com

and let him know what you want. He will ship right away. You

can also use the website (pakshak.com) and put "Autopia" in

the discount box.

3) Ranney only charges the "actual shipping cost." This is

evident, as the price he charged for shipping and handling was

the price listed on the FedEx label.

4) The packaging was superb. All the different towels were

encased in their own plastic containers and in pristine

condition.

5) Though he now has Ultra-Fine MF, the Ultra's should be fine

for most automotive work.

6) If you have any questions about MF, just email Ranney. He is

a wealth of knowledge on the subject.

In addition, Ranney has given me very specific washing instructions, so if you want these, let me know.

On another note, I am also going to try JT International, which, like PakShak, directly imports MF from Korea (the best MF). Tom Gong (owner) doesn't have a website, but you can email him directly at

jtintern@hotmail.com.

If you want the pricelist for JT, let me know.

i've ordered from pakshak when they had a group buy over at bimmerforums. Great towels!! nice and plush, with two different sides. Shipping was lightning quick and answered all my questions promptly. I ordered a week late after the GB ended, but he still gave it to me at the GB price. Awesome service!! Highly recommended!! actually, i'm gonna buy some more soon.

I think Ive decided on excell (a.k.a. Patrick)

They have some reall cheap grunge mf towels and there better blue towels and ww towels he evens sells vm so that would eliminate having to order from to sites

I unpacked the towels and threw them in my washing machine with some Micro Restore. I washed them twice... First, by themselves. Then with my other towels from last weeks Audi detail.

One concern that I had was lint. After two washings there was almost NO lint. Interesting.

The color is chrome yellow, which is good because it separates them from my other MF towels.

Weight and plushness. Not the best towels, but slightly heavier and plusher than my "Economy Viper" detailing towels from www.properautocare.com.

Softness - Very soft. Softer than the Viper blue towels mentioned above.

Quality - Overall, the quality seemed fairly good. The weave seems to have VERY slight irregularities. But given that they cost about 70 cents a piece, the quality is pretty high.

Overall, I think is was a good buy.

I'll keep you posted.

Regards,

Dan.
