Autofiber.com=Microfiber tech?

Hey gang. Since Ian has not logged in today, I can answer the question for you. Ian created Autofiber.com specifically for his automotive products.

Hello Everybody,

I just logged in so that I could announce the new site Autofiber.com, and explain everything, i.e. the difference between MicrofiberTech and Autofiber.com, and the reasons why I decided to make a site geared specifially toward selling microfiber for Auto Detailing, but you guys (the savy consumers that you are) have already begun the discussion. (Why I love Autopia!)

First off, as most of you already know, there are many different types of microfiber, some are good for car care and some are not. Also, microfiber is becomming popular in many other different markets, to name a few, the Jan-San Indutstry, household care products (mops and such), and beauty products. We began adding new microfiber products, for the various industries, to the MicrofiberTech web site but we began to feel that it was getting too confusing having all of these various types and qualites of microfiber.

So instead of adding even more products to the Microfiber Tech website (the dash duster, Applicator Pads, and Pro Detailing Towels), I decided to build a new web site geared specifically toward Auto Care. There are many advantages, for both us the business, and you the consumer. Mainly we will be able to better serve you,and your needs as auto care enthusiests. Hopefully through the discussion here, we will be able to improve on our Microfiber products for auto care (so if you have any ideas, or concerns, we now have an easy place to discuss). Also we are going to have Free Ground shipping, something I know you all like, as shipping charges tend to get frustrating sometimes. Also, on the new site you will be able to log in, view the status of your order, and track the shipment right there from the web site.

So what is going to happen to Microfiber Tech? We are going to gear that site more toward the wholesale side of the business. But it is also going to be a "hub" for other industry specific sites that we are going to create in the future.

I hope I have answered some of your questions and concerns. If you have any more I would love to answer.

Also, later on today, I will announce a special Autopia discount code for Autofiber.com.

Thanks,

Ian

The Pro Detailing Towels are neither the Elite nor the Ultra. Both those towels are a 80/20 blend. The Pro Detailing Towels are a 75/25 blend. They are softer and more absorbant than either of the Ultras or Elites.

Most people that have tried them like them better than the Elites and the Ultras. But if you guys try them and don't like them as much, then I will add the Elites to the site also.

So I would love to get your feedback.

Thanks,

Ian

Noooooooooooooooo :D! I really really do not need anymore MF towels please do not do this to me;)

All wisecracks aside a big WELCOME to you as a sponsor. I do not think this site could have found a better product to have a sponsor for.:bounce

Thanks for signing on as a sponsor! I have some of your MFs and love them! Now I just need to get some o' those puppies to wear out, so I can place more orders. :D

I'm also glad to see Autofiber as a sponsor at Autopia.

Since my first purchase from Ian I have been recommending MicrofiberTech to everyone as THE place to get MF towels. Now I'll just be changing my recommendation to Autofiber.com. New site, same great quality and prices.

Here's wishing Autofiber all the best!! :usa

Ian,

Thanks for setting up a site with free shipping. I just wanted to say that your site says that the towels are 70/30...you pointed out here that they are 75/25...so you might want to correct that. Also, I would like to be able to order the Elites from Autofiber too, if possible...just wanted to register my opinion. Thanks.

Ian,

Thank you for your support of the community. I will also state my preference for the Elite towel product. It is my go to towel for QDing and post polish/wax duties.

Is the 75/25 product what was your glass towel?

e46_325xi,

Thanks for pointing out that error. I will have it changed!

Mr. Clean,

If you haven't tried the Pro Detailing towels (75/25) you might find that you like them better than the Elites from Microfiber Tech, I certianly do. And no, they are not the same as the Glass towels from Microfiber Tech, they are very different.

Let me explain the difference......If you have used the Elites then you have noticed that they are more plush on one side than the other, and that the plush side is very soft. This is most likely the side that you use on your paint (this is at least what I do) for buffing, polishing and QD.

The Pro Detailing towels (75/25), are plush and soft on both sides. They are slightly less plush than the Elites (this has an advantage that I will explain in a second), but are softer to the touch than the Elites.

The advantage that I was talking about earlier, beyond the softness factor, is that the Pro Detailing Towels seem to clean glass better than the Elites (less streaking because the fibers are not as long), or the Glass Towels from Microfiber Tech (the Glass towels tend to cling to the glass making them more difficult to use).

To me, this all adds up to a more user friendly and versitile product. But this is just my opinion (and many others that I have had test and compare these towels). I should also note, that if there is one thing that I have learned selling these products it is that everybody has their own opinion and favorite (some people swear by the Glass towels, others the Elites, and still other the Waffle-Weave), so the best thing to do is to test different products, and find which ones fit best into your detailing routine.

If you aren't sure about trying out the Pro Detailing Towel, send me a PM or email me at sales@autofiber.com with your shipping address and I will send you out a free sample.

Hope this all makes sense!!

Thanks,

Ian
