the client met me while i was detailing his good friends porsche 997 GT3 and spoke to me about the R8 back then. so when i got the call about the R8 i was quite pleased as i think its the only colour left of the R8`s that i have not done.
so it was once again a trip on the A96 through to aberdeen (god i think i know this road like the back of my hand). got to the clients at 8am and was asked if i needed anything and was also given the keys to the house and the red devil. very trusting to be given the keys to these
so once i had a chat with the client it was time to take the R8 out
i then with the client had a look round the R8 before i started
so once we had a look it was time to pre soak with A/S citrus through the foam lance
so the next step was to put a layer of foam ontop of the citrus
while the citrus and foam was working i had time to clean the wheels
as you can see the EZ brush can get into tight areas that i think no other can
once the wheels were cleaned it was time to rinse the citrus and foam off, once the R8 was rinsed it was time to wash the R8 with the 2 buckets along with the megs hyper wash and mitt.
so now the R8 was now washed the R8 was dryed off with a drying towel that i got from dave g
the next step was to move the R8 inside free from dust as there was work men just down the drive
so the first thing i did once inside was the check the thickness of this red devil
the paint work was not to bad and only found light marks on the paint
so now i know what the paint is like it was time to tape the devil up
for the paint corection i used the trusty makita along with the 3m pads and menzerna
so here is some pics of this lovely red paint now corrected
carbon blades
more carbon blades
it was not also the paint work that was corrected but also the lights as well
now that the paint work was perfect it was time for some Zaino with the Z6 then Z2pro mixed in with some ZFX then Z8. the paint didn`t just get the one layer but 3 layers of zaino, and as i did each layer i did notice it did get deeper each time and even when the owner came back he even noticed it with out me saying a word.
the wheels even got 3 layers of Zaino for protection and the tyres got some Zaino Z16 at the end of the detail i go over the tyres with a microfibre to stop any chance of any sling
the glass was polished with Zaino Z 12 and all the rubbers for all the shuts were treated to with some 303
the tail pipes only needed a wipe with meg`s APC as the R8 only had 200 miles on the clock but also got some swissol metal polish just to finish them off
the leather was also very clean so a light hoover inside and some LTT leather protection sorry for no pic of the leather as i thought i had taken one
the engine bay got a wipe down with some meg`s APC as it was clean any how then treated with 303 protection
where the magic happens
so now for some pics of the red devil out side showing off the deep red skin
thanks for taking the time out to have a look at this beast
the client has now put it on one of my contracts of protection
