Audi From Hell

The following pics are from an Audi A4 station wagon I detailed this weekend. The owner could not remember the last time the car had been waxed and the last time it had been washed was "sometime during the winter" in an automatic car wash. Basically, the only maintenance this car has had in years has been the occasional auto wash. The car was covered in swirls and scratches, some too deep to remove with the PC and the products i had available. I used Meg's DC Paint cleaner (cheap but effective), #9, Blackfire polish, and Blackfire AFPP. I didn't have any DACP (do now) at the time but the DC paint cleaner and #9 did an OK job at removing most of the defects. There was some etching and a a few areas of water spots that I couldn't budge (although they looked better than before), and would say pretty confidently would require some heavy work with a rotary, or possibly even a repainting - they were that bad.

Oh yeah - one more. This is a BEFORE pic. This was visible when I showed up to start work...Doesn't it just make you cringe on a car like this? And it was dead center in the center of the hood. I was able to greatly reduce the visibility of these scratches, though I couldn't eliminate them completely. The owner was extremely happy with the results, so I guess it's all good anyways.

Nice work! Looks like you put a lot of time and effort into it.

Doesn't it bug you though, that someone would get a nice car like that in such a cool color and then not take proper care of it?

Great job on the detail! Don't you just want to smack someone who treats a car (let alone an expensive one) like that?

Nice job. That must've been a lot of work! Don't feel bad about the marring that wouldn't come out. Audi clear is TOUGH; as you suspected, some stuff just won't come out by PC no matter what you do.
