The last week Mirror Detailing and Fast Eddy's Detailing (Southrnstyle) have teamed up to do a full correction on the Audi A8 L Edition and the Cobalt and Carver boat.

Audi A8 - was done by another mobile detailing business in the area that from what the customer was saying had gotten kinda lazy with the detailing. So he wanted to give us a shot at becoming his new detailers. Guy had a serious lust for bike's, atv's and nice cars. Collection consisted of a Ford GT, ZR1, GT500 and a 360 Modena along with about 47 misc bike's and atv's.

Notice the large circle in the paint...last detailer was using a wool pad and had something caught in it...so these circiles were in a few of the panels and very deep.

After we were done with the Audi the customer wanted us to come back and get to working on his 34' Cobalt 3434 Fast Boat. He was planning on putting it up for sale and wanted it looked good. When we went to start on it the following day, when we got to were the boat was parked a guy walked up to us who worked at the marina. Seem's he was the guy who last detailed this boat. When it was purchased the paint was VERY milky. So he was paid to clean it up. He told us that he wet sanded the thing and I quote "I just detailed this thing. Took 2000 grit to it as much as possible. Sanded it down as far as I could possibly go." The paint was terrible heavily faded and some seriously bad wet sanding marks. Which was even worse the gel coat was so sanded down that the blue paint was similiar to single stage, that as we were just cleaning up the paint with a light polish with the DA's blue was coming through the remaining gel coat.

Customer knew that the paint was bad and if he was planning on keeping it would have it repainted. But since he was not he just wanted it to look as good as possible.

Process -

ONR Wash

Meguiars Marine Line High Gloss Polish via DA's w/ LC White Pad's

Sealed with Blackfire Wet Diamond

Waxed w/ Natty's Blue *yes car products...customer wanted this to look shiny! lol *

Yesterday and today after we finished the customers Cobalt...he wanted us to get to his favorite toy... a 44' Carver Sojourn Yacht. Again this either had holograms from the factory or another detailer had been to this before us and the customer wanted as much of the holograms removed and the paint to really shine.

The boat had some staining on it that I can only figure came from a highly concentrated wash that sat on for to long so even though the customer only wanted a 1-step...we 2-stepped most of the boat to really get a better look from the paint. Now since this was on the water, everything used had to be Bio-Degradeable...

Wash:

Deep Crystal Boat Wash via Foam Gun

Washed afterwards via buckets and boar's hair large brushes

Process:

Meguiars 1-Step Compound via Rotary w/ LC Orange Pad

Meguiars High Gloss Polish via GG DA w/ LC Orange Pad Speed 6

Meguiars High Gloss Polish via GG DA w/ LC Orange Pad Speed 4 *actually finished nicely*

LSP:

Collinite Premium Boat Wax

Meguiars Pure Carnuba Wax

Misc.

Vinyl Windows done with Stoners Rain-x Window Cleaner

Seats cleaned and treated with 303

Carpets shampooed and treated with 303

Railings cleaned with Adam's Metal Polish and sealed with Jet Seal

Over all the holograms came out and we corrected about 20-30% of the scratches in the gel coat at the same time and made the boat really shine as the customer requested.

WTF?! Does this guy have some toys or what!? Sick. Fantastic work man. Looks like you scored yourself a nice one with this guy.

Very nice toys!

What an incredible turn around for the boats and the car. I noticed on the car that you topped BFWD - do you find that topping it with carnuba improves the shine?

Soon we will be detailing the rest of the collection and we will post the pictures of all of his toys! And the parts of the boat close to water i used my harbor fright rotary just in case i dropped it lol and yes when we topped the car it brought out a even deeper gloss to with with more of a carnuba glow.

More importantly.. how did you polish it in the water!

As Matt stated from Fast Eddy he was using a Harbor Freight and working it in for a few passes on the side. Luckly I have done plenty of boats on the water so I know little tricks to make it possible to do. Just involves a game of ropes and bumpers.
