Aside from P21S what fool safe chrome rim cleaner should I use?

I need a rim cleaner that is as fool proof and safe as P21S but I would like to purchase it from the local stores (Pepboys, Lappens, Autozone etc)

I heard alot about Eale One cleaners, is this is a true spray on spray off product like P21S?

Be very careful with spray-on, hose-off wheel cleaners. Anything stong enough to spray on and hose off is an acid, which will damage your wheels over time. As your wheels are chrome, they will not damage as easily with an acid cleaner. Just the same, use caution.

P21S is not a spray-on, hose-off cleaner. Like all surfactant based wheel cleaners, it requires some agitation with a sponge or a brush.

I believe Meguiars® Hot Rims Wheel Cleaner is mild and can be bought locally. You may want to check. However, with store bought items, they tend to be a bit harsher than the more refined products such as P21s, Sonus, Sonax, or Meguiars #36.

If you can get by with car wash soap and water with an MF, you'll be safe. Try waxing your wheels too. It'll help with the cleanup. I do it and haven't used wheel cleaners in ages.

Dave - I said "spray on/off" because I am going to have this guy clean his rims every weekend. He hardly drives the car but I want to get him into the mode of cleaning them every week no matter how clean they are so whatever he does use to clean them would probaly be sprayed on the hosed off. I do know that there is usally something like a soapy wash mitt after the rim cleaner to get the remains of the dust.

Spilchy - Those products sound good, looks like alot of mail order item's but this guy is a big spender, I'm sure he would buy alot of rim cleaner all at once and store it.

You know what's weird, he has 13 inch rotors, 6 piston Wilwoods and his brakes barely make dust every week when I see his car while my stock units are dirty as anything.

just curious cause i seen someone suggest stoners invicible glass cleaner for chrome rims, why do glass cleaners work well for chrome rims?

are they just for light brake dustings?

For chrome wheels that do not have a clear coat on them I would use Collinite Metal Wax. Get at any boat shop like West Marine or Boat US. One of my favorites. Works wonders...cleans and protects

I don't how it works but it works. Really well too.

I used stoners on a friends camero crome rims and he was like they have never been that shiney before.

and vise versa if you use mothers metal polish on headlights i hear it gets rid of fogging & yellowing. (yet to try it.)

go figure.

my 2¢.

five year old brake dust- it probably wont help too much

8 month old brake dust-it will clean up nicely.
