Arrgh!!!! I need help.

After spending ~24hours from Friday to Monday on my DD`s spring detail in the final hour I managed to SCRATCH the hood while applying the 2nd layer of Gtechniq`s EXOv2:

DANG!

What I didn`t realize was a small amount of EXO had crystallized around the dropper, dislodged, and stuck to my applicator = the scratches (+ 5 more) you see above.

My question is - can I use Essence PLUS to fix (or make less noticeable) the scratches instead of polishing off this section and then re-coating with EXO? Or no?

Thank in advance...

I don`t see why not, I`m not sure it`s going to remove it but it sure will reduce it.

This has happened to me, I always blow out the bottle tops with compressed air (BE CAREFUL, the bottle will EXPLODE if you put to much air into it too quickly!!).

Thanks, Driver. Have you used Carpro`s gloss pads? And if so, do I really need to buy/use them in-order to get the most out of Essence PLUS? Or can I use one of the soft finishing pads already in my pad arsenal?

Angus, I`m no help, but wanted to extend my condolences. Sorry man.

Thanks, man. It`s ok, I can fix it... the scratches are more aggravating then anything else. With the free shipping promo going on I`ve already placed an order for Essence PLUS, gloss pads, and a bottle of Reset to help maintain the coating.

Since the coating is so fresh you should not have a problem with the scratches, but you may see a difference in color . In that case you`ll need to do the whole panel.

Ok cool. I`ll keep my fingers crossed the "repair" isn`t going to be obvious. My plan now is to wait at least 1 week to allow the coating to cure. Plus it`s going to take a few days for the Carpro order to show up anyhow.

I doubt Plus would fill those in, honestly. Here`s a small review I did on it a while ago: Essence Plus - Album on Imgur

It didn`t touch the deeper ones on my trunk and yours look worse. I`d probably just redo the area, but that`s just me.

Well if it can make then scratches 50% better I`ll be happy. Redoing the hood may still happen down the road. We`ll see!

No you do not need them. Any finishing pad will work just fine. But since you already ordered the gloss pads then I say yes lol.

IMO Eccence Plus won`t phase those scratches. I would repolish and recoat but we are looking at a pic too and not seeing it in person.

Thanks, fellas. We`ll see if Essence does anything... or not. Ha.

If the Essence Plus doesn`t fill in the scratch (hopefully it will), how about buffing lightly with regular Essence and then recoating the area? I`m just thinking out loud, never tried this.
