Aquapel vs Traditional wax

In your opinion, what is more durable and longer lasting?

I'm satisfied with traditionally waxing my windshield with Collinite 845, it works great for a while but the wipers essentially wear the wax away and you have to re-apply somewhat often if you use your wipers a lot.

I'm looking for a more durable solution, like months of proper beading without re-application.

Would Aquapel fit my situation or is its durability similar to wax?

It lasts quite a while, I've tried using regular wax on my windshield, but it occasionally smears and doesn't bead as well as aquapel, at least for me

I love the beading from Collinite, but its gone pretty soon and re-applying wax in the winter isn't exactly ideal here in Canada.

Thanks, maybe I'll purchase a bunch of Aquapel applicators in the spring.

I've always just used RainX and had great results out of it, as well as durability.

Reapplication is super easy and its not too expensive, so I don't mind.

Is Aquapel really any better than RainX?

.....by a longshot. A product that will exceed your expectations.:bow

And to the OP, why would you want to wait until spring? Do yourself a favor and get some soon.

I applied Aquapel on my Echo in April 2007, and it lasted through the summer AND winter before I started to get any streaks... Re-application once a year is pretty damn good IMHO!

As others have mentioned Aquapel is great stuff and lasts a lot longer than RainX. A word of caution, you want to make sure your windshield is clean and free of all traces of previously used wax or RainX type products. Just using a window cleaner is not enough, I would at least use some 91% ISO followed by a good window cleaner. I like to use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser with the alcohol to make sure I'm cutting through anything left on the windshield.

The first time I used it I just cleaned the windshield with Windex hoping the Ammonia-D would remove everything but I got pretty poor results form the Aquapel. Now I always clean as mentioned above and get several months from one treatment.
