Applying Sealant over Carnuba

Hi guys,

did a full detail on the car 2 months ago.

2nd coat of 1 Grand Blitz after Thanksgiving.

Question, can I apply (WG) sealant over it or do I have to strip off everything before?

wanted to take advantage of the nice weather here in the NorthEast to get some added protection on it.

thanks and a Happy New Year!!

You could, but I dont think your results would be optimum.....I have much better results, both appearance wise and durability wise, with as sterile a surface as possible before using a Polymer product.

My vote would be to apply some paint cleaner prior to the polymer.

Then again, it depends on the type of product your going to use, as some contain light cleaners which may enable all the cleaning necessary.

I agree with Patrick as well. Also in my experience, OG Blitz tends to be one of the more durable carnauba waxes available (not in Collinite's class...comparable to #16). This layer of wax should compromise the appearance and durability of WG if you do not remove it.

thanks, guys.

will just stick wih Blitz then until I decide to re-polsih. just wanted to test WG sealant. can't wait till spring...
