Applying RMG

I used my RMG tonight after getting feedback about how to remove the P.S. that was already there (FPII, RMG, PS). When applying RMG with the buffing pad, it was o.k. but seemed to take a long time. I then tried applying with a microfiber applicator and buffing after it hazed up (pretty quick I might add). I found the results to be superior to applying it with the pad. The directions on the bottle were too basic. Anyone else tried this?
 
Nope, never tried it that way. Matter of fact, I've never used RMG all by itself, it's always mixed with something. But glad it worked out for you.

I guess it is you and me... I also find that I can do a better job applying by hand but the majority uses a buffing pad. I put on a coat of RMG then PS - I may do several coats of PS then another coat of RMG over a span of a couple of months.:goodjob
 
RMG works best when applied with a finishing pad on speed 4. 2 medium speed passes is all it takes.



It's very fast and effective by PC.

Maybe I was working it in too much. Do you use a rotary? I was. I found it to be very quick when applying by hand and then remove via rotary with finishing pad. It looked the same as doing it all by rotary.
 
I was looking forward to ordering some RMG today, but danase.com was out of stock:nixweiss They (danase.com) say to apply it by hand but i was going to use my pc with a finishing pad, so apparently there's more than one way to apply. That's one of the fun parts of detailing, experimenting:D
 
PC and finishing pad works best for me. Speed of about 4.5, a few passes and it pretty much disappears into the paint.
 
If I have light swirls to remove I use a polishing pad. If the finish is swirl free I use a finishing pad. Works quite well with both pads using a pc.
