Applying Optimum Car Wax with buffer?

Hi

Below is product information about OCW taken from autogeek dot net slash optimum-spray-wax.html

Can I use an orbital buffer with Optimum Car Wax to wax my car?

Absolutely. In fact, most detail shops use Optimum Car Wax with high speed polishers or orbital buffers. You must use a low density foam pad with your dual action (orbital) buffer or polisher. This combination results in a very high gloss finish in a few minutes.

Does anybody have experience doing this?

Is it just a matter of priming the pad with couple of sprays perhaps, and a spray per panel then apply buffer in one pass?

Sure, using a soft foam pad w/ zero cut to apply waxes or sealants is super easy. Apply the wax to your pad, see how far it goes, and reapply as needed.

I dunno...OCW via machine? I`d have to have a specific, and *very* compelling reason to overkill the application that way.

I think I misinterpreted the autogeek description, I thought it sounded as if applying via machine would result in a better result.

yas- Well, I can imagine it being beneficial *in certain circumstances* just like buffing a car with a QD instead of [the usual stuff] can occasionally be worthwhile. But oh man do I think those occasions are few and far between.
