Applying Gel Tire Shine

Damned pollen!!!
What kind of applicator do you use? Those foam ones that have the contour shape and a yellow 'handle' always come apart after 2 uses (I think they are Eagle1). Suggestions?

The sponges over at CG work very well and have never come apart yet on me. They are contoured with a block shape. The top is green and the sponge is black. I like them for CG tire gel and PB BnB.

oh. thanks. I am looking for something I can get from a local store. May just have to try a few different things.

no matter what type of dressing i use i always applie it with a paint brush, i find it won't sling when done in this way. works well for me.

I have been using the eagle one tire foam things for a while now and wash them out after every use and they haven't fallen apart for me. Haven t tried them with a gel thought just liquid. Cant beat the price either :bigups

I ended up with the eagle one applicators again. We'll see how long they last. Usually, the black applicator will separate from the yellow handle.

may i suggest washing them after every use. Just run them under water and push the black part onto the yellow part a couple of times to get the dressing out. This may prolong the life of them.

For tires, I use the Carrand brand applicator. They are cheap. Big Lots has some Turtle Wax Tire applicators that seem like the same thing. I do not wash mine. I just keep it in a zip lock type baggie. I never have issues but the sponge stays primed.

This is exactly how I do it, I got myself a good quality brush and paint it on, gives a nice even coat.

I've been using the Eagle 1 for a couple years now. I have never had one "separate," fall apart, whatever. They do wear out, however.

round foam ones with slits in the sides. they are the best and help keep you fingernails cleaner.

when I apply the armor all extreme tire gel i use just a normal rectangular black foam pad, with a blue plastic top/handle. I also used to use a big kidney bean sponge before it got so black and dirty that it had to be thrown out that i only used for the tire gel after washing and cleaning then letting it dry before i applied dressing. It is best to let the tire dry at least 90% before tire shines.

Am using Eagle One tire swipe, works well for me :bigups
