APC to Clean Wheels & Tires

Does anyone use an APC to clean their wheels and tires instead of a dedicated wheel &/or tire product. If so, what dilution is safe to use on all rims and also on the tires so they don't brown from being to harsh. I generally use either Purple Power or Orange Blast for an APC. thanks
 
APC's generally do not work as well as a wheel cleaner. The main reason is, APC's are high ph, and wheel cleaners are usually a lower (acidic) ph. The soiling on wheels usually responds better to a product with an acidic ph.
 
I use APC as a wheel cleaner. Most of the time it is Greased LIghtning Citrus.



For wheels that are just moderately dirty it works great. You may have to move to a dedicated wheel cleaner for the really neglected wheels.
 
For general wheel cleaning I use Simple Green 4:1 and it works great. Never used it on really neglected wheels.
