APC+ problems

I have been loking alot more critically on my detailing, and trying to find each point where a step could go wrong. Today I noticed somthing.

I was working in a 2002 Mustang GT (pics to follow) and while cleaning the tires I noticed somthing. Before I used APC+ the tires were flat black. They have not been dressed in 4 months. After I used APC+ they were brown! I switched brushes, everything from the tire brushes, to my tonneau cover brush (almost as soft asa wash mitt) Nothing could restore the black!!

Anyone ever seen this or have ideas why?

I have never seen that before. Not really sure what could cause that if it was caused by the apc+

A few things i could think of

Did you dilute the apc+ correctly. But I don't think that would matter.

Maybe the tires were brown before they came to you. You said they have not been dressed in 4 months and have been covered in dirt. It could be that apc removed all the dirt and showed the true color of the tire.

I would just give the tires a good cleaning and use a good tire dressing that does not turn tires brown and you should be fine.

I've never had this happen to me. I spray it on, scrub with a stiff tire brush, rinse it off and it's like new again.

Maybe your brush wasn't stiff enough? I'm not sure what could cause this. :nixweiss

I agree with NYD's theory that maybe the tires were really brown underneath whatever brake dust/dirt/etc. was caked on the tires, so that if you just dress the tires they will become black again. I've experienced this myself at times.
