Anzafin's Sapphire Black BMW 530d detailed

Here we go...

I have wanted to get rid of heavy swirls and deep rids in my car for a long time. Few weeks ago after a magpie had made some more scratches on my hood I

decided to go for it...

I've been practising and learning machine polishing with a Flex XC 3401 VRG for some time. Now I had the confidence to do my own loved e60.

My washing methods should be ok, and the marring my car had was produced my previous owner and "a professional detailer" who sucked big time.

I took two weekends with the job because I didn't want to hurry and I could take that time with my car. Last week I took a bicycle everywhere I went. The car stayed in a garage. I managed to remove maybe 95% of swirls and rids. As you can see from the pictures, some of those rids were deep.

I hope I can maintain the good condition the paint now has for a long time.

I am very sorry I couldn't take any shiny pictures because of the full grey sky today.

Thank you everyone who helped me out on Car Detailing section! :heelclick

Feedback appreciated (as always)!

Looks great, man.

On a separate note, I think if you really want to set those wheels off, you should get them black chromed. That would keep the dark look you're going for while providing the contrast necessary to attract more attention.

awesome job!! nice choice of wheels, but the flat black just isn't doing your car any good. get black polished or black chrome and it'll make your car stand out and look cleaner.

I love the black on black, tint those tails and side markers and it would really set it off. Are you working out of a mini-storage?

Thanks fellows.

Awsomeshine: I'm lucky they don't salt the roads up here. ;)

mgsjester: I've seen 5ers with polished black rims and I really didn't like them.

SVTDavis: I'm not quite sure what you meant, but if you're asking if I'm working in that garage or not, the answer is yes, I did the detail in there. It was possible by driving the car just in right/left side of a garage when detailing the opposite side. :)

Very nice work on the black BMW.

I find that I get the best results out of S1000 and P1500 when used w/ wool via rotary.

Strada 1000- Very heavy cut with yellow or black wool. Has a very long working time, even at 2k on hard clears. It will fill somewhat so a IPA or prep solve wipedown after each polishing step, will let you know where you really stand.

Presta 1500- Works excellent with the green wool at 1500. Same wipedown rules apply as above.

Hello my fellow Finn :) Car looks great. I usually use Meguiars or Optimum products, there is a guy here in Helsinki that has a lot of Meguiars stuff if you are interested? I prefer Meguiars to most Autoglym stuff. But that spray sealant looks interesting. Have not seen it anywhere, where did you get it?

It's AutoGlym's Liquid Hardwax put in the Extra Gloss Protection bottle. I think they are the same product, the Liquid Hardwax is just wholesale packaged and renamed.

The spray nozzle is from some another bottle. I just attached it to this bottle to make it little easier to spread the product.

I could try Meguiar's too, but I like to buy this kind of things from a shop somewhere here in my hometown. So that I can really "see" and "touch" the product before purchasing it :lol. And Meguiar's is not available here, but the Presta is. Like AutoGlym, which is everywhere. I like them both a lot.
