Anzafin detailed: Porsche 911 Carrera 2001 - black

This weekend I detailed (paint correction only) this Porsche 911 Carrera 2001.

Swirls, polishing machine trails and lots of holograms were all over the car. So it has been "polished" before and at least there wasn't very many deep scratches in the paint.

The front fenders, hood (trunk in front), front and rear bumpers were recently repainted, and as you can see in the pics, the rear bumper was polished horribly. The paint shop had promised to re-polish the car (or only the repainted parts I'm not sure), but the owner decided to bring the car to me instead.

The process was quite interesting, because the original clearcoat differed pretty much compared to the clear on repainted areas. I found the original clearcoat very soft. It heated very fast and dried the polish on the surface quickly. At first it was bit difficult to work, until I found the right combination of a polish and pad. The original parts were mainly corrected with Lake Country CCS Black pad + Menzerna PO106FA. I think this quite mild combo speaks for a soft clearcoat too. The rear spoiler was the baddest scratched area and there I needed to go with LC CCS Orange pad and Menzerna PO85RD 3.02.

The clearcoat on repainted parts was much harder and needed a LC CCS White pad + PO106FA.

The process was:

1) Pre-Wash

- Korrek Lensitil BR solvent wash spray

2) Wash

- Turtle Wax Big Orange

- Two bucket method + Sheepskin Mitt

3) Claying

- Zaino Z-18

- Turtle Wax Big Orange as lubricant

4) Polish

- Menzerna PO106FA + Lake Country CCS Black Finishing pad (on original paint areas)

- Menzerna PO106FA + Lake Country CCS White Polishing pad (on repainted areas)

- Menzerna PO85RD 3.02 + Lake Country CCS Orange Light Cutting pad (on rear spoiler)

- Flex XC 3401 VRG

5) LSP's

- Poorboy's Blackhole + Lake Country CCS Blue Final Finishing pad

- FK1000P
