This weekend I polished this Audi A6 - Ebony Black Pearl.
The paint was in pretty bad condition, swirls and random deep scratches everywhere. That Audi clearcoat is really hard and I was "searching" the right polish + pad combo through the whole polishing job! The best I could do was Menzerna PO85RD 3.02 and the Lake Country CCS Yellow Cutting pad. Almost everywhere I did two passes, but could still achieve only a 85-90% correction.
The second phase was finalizing the paint with Britemax #4 Black Max and LC CCS White polishing pad. Great stuff!
My friend brought the car couple of days earlier, as we both had our little holiday trips before the polishing job, and when I finally on the Saturday morning was about the start the job, I noticed the right rear tyre was empty! So I had to start by changing it...
Oh well...
The process was:
1) Pre-Wash
- Korrek Lensitil BR solvent wash spray
- Bilt-Hamber Autofoam
2) Wash
- Turtle Wax Big Orange
- Two bucket method + Sheepskin Mitt
3) Claying
- Zaino Z-18
- Turtle Wax Big Orange as lubricant
4) Polish
- Menzerna PO85RD 3.02 + Lake Country CCS Yellow Cutting pad (2-3 passes on most panels)
(- Britemax #4 Black Max)
- Flex XC 3401 VRG
5) LSP's
- Britemax #4 Black Max
- Collinite 915
